Born 30/10/1918 at 7th Concession of Howard Twsp., Kent Co., ON.; The son of Margaret Campbell and James W. Fox. Educated at Windsor Public School and Ridgetown High and Vocational School.

Lewis married Betty Tinline the daughter of Albert Tinline of Highgate. The marriage ceremony was conducted at the brides grandfather James F. Tinlines’ home. Lewis and Betty left for eastern points on their wedding trip. They were to reside in Lethbridge, Alberta where Lewis was training. CDN 29/08/42.

Lewis enlisted in the RCAF Ferry Command on 7/07/1940.
