David Bews-Foubister enlisted as private in 33rd. Battalion Promoted to Sergeant two weeks after enlistment and given commission as Lieutenant August 14th, 1915. proceeded overseas with 33rd Battalion went to France August 1916 took part in Somme operations at at Regina Trench, was severely wounded at Vimy Ridge November 11th 1916, in hospital for seven moths, had four operations, returned to 3rd reserve Battalion July 1917 and commanded B Coy 3rd Res until December 12th, 1917 when was appointed a/c Captain and Adjutant 2nd C.O.R.D. until June 1918, was sent to Musketry Camp as Camp Adjutant until Non 1918 when proceeded to Kimmel park Camp. Wales as adjutant M.D. #2 when he returned to Canada in the Empress of Britain.
Placed on Reserve of officers.
