Sapper Albert E. Flook left for England in March 1917 with the 256th. Battalion and trained at Purfleet Camp about three months, He crossed to France July 1st, 1917, transferring to the 10th. Canadian Railway Troop Battalion, with which he served on the Somme and Ypres fronts. March 4th., 1918, he was transferred to the 3rd. Battalion, C.R.T.; was slightly gassed in June 1918; and in August 1918 left France embarking from England September 27th, 1918, and arriving in Canada October 9th, 1918.
12/11/18 – Medically unfit for further general service. 31/05/17 Transfer from 256 Batt, transfer to 10th CRT. 7/06/17 10th CRT. Proceeded overseas. Arrived in England 7/04/17 aboard S.S. Missanable.
4/09/17 10 CRT SOS to Cdn. Labour Pool. 17/05/18 SOS to Gen – Depot. From Gen. Depot to 1st CPP. 10/07/18 SOS to CANADA. Embarked 22/09/18 for Canada.

Albert’s wife was living on King St. in Chatham and they would move to 78 Wellington St. East 9/07/20.
Albert passed away 30/01/45 CDN. Funeral reported in CDN 1/02/45. A veteran of three wars. Interment was made in Remembrance Field at Maple Leaf Cemetery.
