Next of Kin reported as Mrs. Margaret A. Fleming of 6 ½  King St. West, Chatham, ON., Leslie’s wife his father was also residing at that address. Prior to his enlistment Leslie was employed at the International Harvester Company on Grand Ave. East, Chatham.

He enlisted in 1940 stationed at #12 Basic Training Centre in Chatham for about three years. Leslie went overseas in November 1943 with the Canadian Armoured Regt.   Arrived from overseas on S. S. “Louis Pasteur” CDN 1/09/45.   IODE(P).  Served in England and went to France June 9, 1944  three days after D-Day. Since then has seen action in Belgium and Holland.   It was reported in the CDN 24/03/45(P) that Tpr. Fleming had seen action in France, Belgium and Holland.
