The WN 27/01/44 reported Pte. J. Fish serving with the Picton Highlanders in St. John’s NB.

The CDN 22/1/45  reported that Private William J. Fish was one of the first men to leave the special train which brought his battalion home to Windsor on the 21st of November. He lost no time finding his wife in the crowd of thousands that were waiting to greet the arriving veterans.

After the documentation in the Windsor Armoury, the couple were aboard the Legion bus headed for Chatham and finally their home on Gladstone Ave.

William was discharged 9/01/1946.
