Nursing Sister M. M. Fielder enlisted at Ottawa April 15th 1915 with #3 Stationary Hospital and went to England with that unit the last of the same month, In May she was sent to France for duty in #6 British General Hospital. Recalled to England latter part of July. Left England with #3 Canadian Stationary Hospital unit August 1st, 1915 for duty on the Isle of Lemnos in the Aegean Sea, was on duty there as sister in charge of operating theatre until invalided to Canada in December 1915. After being given six moths leave was placed for duty at Wolsley Barracks Hospital, In January 1917 was promoted to rank of matron of same hospital, Later was made Principal Matron of M.D. having charge of all military hospitals in that district.
Resigned June 1st 1919 owing to an injury to “my left limb which prevented my carrying on my duties.”
