Private Ross W. Ferren transferred from the 70th. to the 33rd. Battalion December 6th, 1915, going overseas with this unit. He proceeded to France May 6th, 1916, transferring to the 58th. Battalion. During the severe engagement of Courcelette, September 20th, 1916, he received wounds which necessitated his removal to England, and upon sufficient recovery was returned to Canada, by the Olympic, arriving at Halifax May 21st, 1917. He received treatment at the Convalescent Home, London, Ontario.
Private Ross W. Ferren was given his discharge October 4th, 1917, at London as medically unfit.
