Born in 1919 at Marmora, ON. The son of William Everitt and Birdie (nee Gamble), brother of  Edna, Betty and Robert, of 138 Wellington Str., Chatham. The father of David, Mark and Donna (French). Cpl.William attended the Central School. At the time of his enlistment he was employed at the Chrysler factory. He was also a Daily News Carrier Boy. CDN 9/06/43(P).  

William joined the First Kent Regt. in August of 1940, going overseas he served with the Canadian Army in Italy and North West Europe. After the war “Bill’ continued his involvement with the military joining the Kent Regt. and later the Essex & Kent Scottish Regt.

Enlisted with the Kent Regiment. Transferred to another unit to go overseas. Served in Sicily, Italy, France, Germany, and Holland. Promoted to the rank of Corporal served on C.P.C. after the war was over, for one year.

Discharged November 19th, 1946.
