In April of 1941 he was on furlong from the Kent’s then stationed in London, ON. TT 17/04/41.    Roy was reported returning to Niagara-on-the-Lake to rejoin the Kents after a five day furlough in December of 1941. TT 18/12/41.  In a letter from Pte. Joseph G. Flaherty, A49744 to the Tilbury Times he mentions meeting Roy overseas for the first time and “He is looking fine”.  TT 16/09/43

The CDN 10/12/45 reported that he returned to Canada aboard the S. S. Mauretania. Next of Kin:  Mrs. G. F. Escott, St. Mart’s Street, Tilbury
