Attestation: 11/05/1918 at London, ON. to 1st WOR. According to his attestation papers listed as. Complexion: coloured, Eyes: brown, Hair: Black Age 23 years.Medical 17/04/18. Margin note on attestations papers indicates the father Ben moving to 33 Brown St., Chatham, ON.  LAC search.

Hugh has assigned $15.00 per month to Mrs. Evelyn Enis, 54 Hyslop St. Chatham.  

Embarked 10/07/18 aboard S.S. Saturnia, disembarked in England 22/07/18. Hugh came down with measles 22/0/18 Central Military Hospital at Fort Pitt, Chatham, England. Transferred to Woodcote –Epson to convulse 8/08/18. He was discharged 11/10/18 the day before the end of the war. 14/12/18 he was TOS at Kimmell Park, England awaiting transport to Canada.

1/03/1919 arrived at Halifax, NS. aboard the S.S. Lapland. 3/03/19 Hugh was granted a furlough to 19/03/19. He was discharged from H.M.S. discharged 24/03/1919 demobilized.   

Served in France CDN. Forestry Corps, CEF.
