Private WIlliam Emans trained with the 33rd. Battalion in Canada going overseas in June 1915. He was stationed at Schorncliffe until proceeding to France August 22nd, 1915, when he transferred to the 1st. Canadian Battalion. He went to England on leave December 29th, 1916, entered hospital for an operation on his feet January 9th, 1917, and reported February 22nd, 1917, at Hastings, where he was given garrison duty. July 9th, he continued training at Bramshott, transferring to Witley in April 1918. He left for Canada December 21st. 1918, arriving at Halifax December 29th, 1918.
Private William Emans received his discharge January 28th, 1919, due to demobilisation.
