Emans, Stevenson Turnbull

 

Born in Chatham, ON., 23 May, 1924. The third son of William and Catherine (nee McFadden) of Joseph Street, Chatham, Ontario, brother of William, Donald V. ( J86324) and Myles R. (R126947). The husband of Barbara June (nee Moore), father of Stephanie.

Stationed at Brandon, Manitoba, Regina, Vancouver, Quebec, and Nova Scotia. Served overseas for three months. Stevenson was a Pilot Officer (Navigator) in the RCAF during WWII.

Steve enlisted in the RCAF in February, 1943 and in January of 1944 he was stationed in Calgary on a wireless navigator course. CDN 10/01/44(P) Steve was reported to have graduated as a wireless navigator from Ancienne Lorette, Quebec with the rank of pilot Officer. He was third of the Emans’ boys to graduate in the RCAF. CDN 6/11/44(P)

Stevenson was a Pilot Officer (Navagator) in the RCAF during WWII. The CDN 15/06/45(P) reported that Steve had arrived overseas.

Discharged October 14th, 1945.

After the war he returned to Chatham and was the manager of Sunnen Products. Chairman of the Industrial Commission for the City of Chatham, Past President of the Chamber of Commerce as well as being involved in local clubs and his church.

He passed away Sunday, 23 January, 2011 at the age of 86
