Son of RQM Jack Ellis and Mrs Ellis of 83 Landsowne Ave., Chatham, ON., brother of Charles A9388 and Jack who was serving in the Phillipines with the USAAF. Was reported wounded while serving in Italy but remained with his unit. CDN 25/01/45.  A photo of Thomas includes his brother Charles who was also serving in Italy.  

Thomas enlisted the RCASC in 1939 and served his whole tour of service with that unit.

None served in Kent Regiment N.R.A.M. as buglar and Sergeant Instructor of M. G.  for nearly eight years.

Trained in Canada for two months. Went overseas and served in England. Participated at Dunkirk. Was sent to Scotland, Sicily and Italy. Promoted to the rank of Corporal. Was mentioned in Dispatches and was awarded the Dunkrik Star, Sicily Star, Italy Star. Was wounded and hospitalized at a base hospital.  Thomas was reported wounded while serving in Italy but remained with his unit. CDN 25/01/45(P).  A photo of Thomas includes his brother Charles who was also serving in Italy. 

Beside his Mention In Dispatches (MiD) he was also awarded the 1939 – 43 Star for his service. CDN 13/09/44.

Discharged May 28th, 1945.
