Rank: Private, A61527, Regiment: South Saskatchewan Regiment, R.C.I.C.  Of Chatham, ON. The son of Mrs. John Anderson of the River Road, Harwich Twsp. He was born in Thamesville 23 years ago. He attended school in Thamesville and later in Chatham. Prior to his enlistment in 1941 he was living in Chatham, ON. He was employed by the Libby McNeill and Libby of Canada. Murray had a brother Pte. Orville a. Ellis Jr., also in the Canadian Tank Corps he had been overseas since February 1944. 

Murray received his military training in Windsor, Petawawa, New Brunswick and finally at Camp Borden. CDN 2/09/44
