Born 16/09/1920 in Raleigh Twsp.  The son of Mr. Ira and Maude Ellerbeck of R.R. #3 Merlin, and Wheatley, ON.

Enlisted in the Army and transferred to the RCAF 2/08/1943 in either Chatham or Windsor and was stationed at 6 RD., Trenton, ON. where he trained as a Master Mechanic Transport. He was posted overseas in February of 1944 and served with the 406 Squadron at Manston, Kent, England where he met Eileen Tisbury, his future wife who was serving in the RAF. They were married 16 August, 1946 and he was honourably discharged from service 19/06/1946.

The Merlin Standard 16/04/44 reported that his parents received word that he had arrived safley overseas. The CDN 19/05/44(P) reported that Arvine was serving with the RCAF, Headquarters Staff in London, England. 

Arvine was a resident of Kent Bridge, Kent Co., ON when he passed away 6 October, 1976.
