During the pursuit of the enemy from the Canal de la Sense to the Foret de Raismes, between 17th and 21st October, 1918, he performed valuable services in establishing signal connections with advancing companies under heavy fire.
Private Edwards served as Drummer with the 24th Kent Regiment, Chatham.
He obtained a first class certificate in Signalling at London and after going overseas with the 186th battalion on Mar. 26, 1917 he received a similar certificate in Signalling at Shoreham.
He was appointed instructor in the Signal School at Bramshott, volunteered for France, proceeded to the 1st battalion in Dec. 1917.
He served in the Signal Section where we was promoted to the rand of Corporal.
