Arthur enlisted in the RCAF when he was seventeen. He trained at many stations spending six months in Newfoundland. In March of 1944 Sgt. Eberle went overseas. On January 6th “Today Ridgetown’s flag at have mast for another of it’s brave sons have paid the supreme sacrifice”, the day before Arthur Jason Eberle’s 20th birthday he was killed returning from an mission.

Date of Death: 02/01/1945, in Lancaster bomber # PB 515; target Nuremberg after returning from mission two Lancasters had a mid-air collision preparing to land at Nettleham, Loncolnshire, England. Also killed in this action on the same plane was Sgt. Donald Dunk Hoskins, R259913 of Chatham, ON.

Beside his sorrowing mother, Rose, were a sister, Olive, and a brother Orva. His father, John, had already passed away.
