Born at Petrolia in 1920, was living in Chatham, the son of Herbert and Lillian Easter of 11 Grant St., Chatham. The brother of Ted (RCAF) and William (31st Alberta Reece Regt.)

Served in Canada for more than a year. Went overseas and served in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. Promoted to the rank of Corporal, and was mentioned in dispatches. It was reported that Robert was overseas in February of 1945. CDN 27/02/45  Robert went overseas as an electrician with the RCASC in Britain.  The CDN 27/02/45 Reported to be serving in Holland serving overseas for the last two years.

Discharged March 10th, 1946.
