The son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert ‘Bert’ and Lillian Easter of 11 Grant St., Chatham, ON. The brother of Robert G. (RCASC) and William (31stAlberta Reece Regt). Ted was a former Chatham News carrier and also worked in the ‘The News’ business office.
It was reported that Ted had arrived safely in England. His brothers Robert was serving in the RCASC and a third son Tpr. William with the CACTC at Dundurn, Sask. CDN 17/10/42.
Reported returning from overseas duty aboard the S. S. Ile De France, expected to arrive in Halifax 2/10/1945 (CDN 29/09/45. Copy of 13/06/2001. Ted went overseas 27/02/45 He was reported home on leave 4/10/45.
A letter from Chaplain F. A. Springborn of the RCAF in England had written to his parents commenting on the “Splendid service” Ted was doing” while serving overseas.
It was reported that Charles was overseas in February of 1945. CDN 27/02/45. serving in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany.
Served three months with Canadian Army (Reserve)
Trained in Canada, Was sent overseas and served in England. Promoted to Flight Sergeant.
Discharged November 21st, 1945.
