Son of Charles Dunlop of Mitchell’s Bay. A farmer. Attestation: 3/04/1916 at Chatham, ON. to 186th Bn. Reported wounded CDP 11/12/1
Private J. A. Dunlop went overseas with the 186th. Battalion in March 1917 and trained at Bramshott Camp until August, when he proceeded to France, transferring to the 18th. Battalion. At Passchendaele November 10th, he was wounded in the right leg, left hand and face, immediately receiving special hospital treatment in France and later in England. He was in Orpington Hospital, transferring to Bramshott and from there to Witley where he went to hospital with flu. he arrived in Canada December 23rd 1918.
Discharged January 5th 1919 due to demobilisation.
