Cpl. Camp Ipperwash, ON. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dunlop of Mitchell’s Bay. OD WT. Dunlop RCNVR who was stationed at St. Hyacinthe PQ. was reported in the WN 18/03/43 home on a week end leave. The WN 29/04/43 reported That Alvin was among a group of RCNVR boys who were in Toronto to continue their studies as Wireless Telegraphists. The WN 24/06/43 reported that Alvin spent a week with his parents at Mitchell’s Bay.

He was home on a week-end leave. WN 4/05/44, 21/09/44, 5/10/44, 9/11/44 23/11/44 3/08/45. In May of 1944 Alvin and his friend Arthur Brown of Kitchener and had been stationed at No. 12 BTC-Chatham where leaving Chatham for an advanced training centre.

The Wallaceburg News 20/07/44 reported that Pte. A.A. Dunlop was taking an Instructor’s course at Camp Ipperwash and was at home on a weekend leave.
