Dunk, Walter Laurie

 

Born in Orillia, ON. in 1916, the son of Mrs. W. A. Dunk of Van Allen, Avenue, Chatham. Walter was living with his sister Marjorie Dunk at 105 Van Allen Ave., Chatham, ON. when he enlisted in the RCAF in March of 1942.

Walter was reported in the CDN 20/05/43 was on service on the west coast.

He trained at the Toronto Manning Centre and Moncton, NB. and Victoriaville, PQ where he reached the rank of Pilot Officer. He reverted to an accounting position until his discharge 8/12/1944.

Laurie married Florence Harriett (nee Keeley) of Chatham, they would have two children Mary (Bradley) and Bill. Laurie passed away in 1973.
