Sergeant Roy Downing trained with the 241st. Battalion; was sent to Kingston to take a B.F. & P.T. Course, later to Stratford and then to Toronto. In 1917 he was chosen as Instructor for M.S.A. men with the 1st. Depot Battalion, London, Ontario.
Sergeant Roy Downing received his discharge November 28th, 1918, as medically unfit for active service.
