Regimental number: 931749.  Reference: RG 150, Accession 1992-93/166, Box 2574-14, Item: 359654, PDF: B2574-S014. Date of Birth: 9/12/1890. Living at 183 Park Ave., Chatham, ON. The son of Lucy Dolman and Joseph (living apart). Ambrose was a single laborer living at his mother’s home. Age 20 years one. Age 20 years one month, 4’ 4”, Complexion: dark, Eyes: brown, Hair: black.     

Attestation: 17/01/17 at London, ON.

While stationed at Truro, NS. he was admitted to the Truro General Hospital suffering from Tonsillitis 18/02/17 and was discharged 24/02/17. He returned to hospital 16/03/17 for “Phimosis” and was discharged 20/03/17.

Sailed for England aboard the S.S. Southland, embarked 25/03/17 arrived in England 7/04/17. He was overseas to France 17/05/17. He was given 10 days “Field Punishment 4/10/17 He was reported receiving a sever sentence 20/10/17. He was back in hospital to the General Hospital at Estaples, Fr. 15/12/17 this time for a mild case of VDG and was discharged 1/01/18. 9/01/18 he left for 37 Coy C.C.C.

Private William A. Dolman went overseas with the Construction Battalion March 6th, 1917, proceeding at once to France. He transferred to 37th. Canadian Forestry Corps till after the Armistice when he went back to No. 2 Construction Battalion, leaving France December 1918 and arrived in Canada January 1919.

Ambrose arrived in Halifax NS. aboard the S.S. Olympic. He was discharged from H.M.S 8/02/19.

Discharged February 8th, 1919 due to demobilization.

He was reported dead 15/12/1933. He was reported dead in the military records 26/01/1955 with no record of Next of Kin.
