The son of Mr. and Mrs. James C. Foster of Chatham. Verdun attended McKeough Public School and the Chatham Collegiate institute.
Verdun graduated with his Wings at RCAF- Mountain View, ON. CDN 10/10/42.
The WN 15/10/42 reported that Sgt. Gnr. then stationed at RCAF-Mountain View was spending a few days with his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Theo Foster at Thorneyhurst.
The CDN 11/01/45 reported the Verdun was at a German POW camp along with Pat Murphy and Bill Guertin all from Wallaceburg.
