Age at enlistment 23 years. Son of Arthur and Jane Dell of R. R. # 5 Wallaceburg, ON. A single sailor living at his mothers home. Attestation: 22/03/1916 at Beecher, ON. to 149th Bn. Complexion: Dark, Hair Brown, Eyes: Brown 20/20. Height: 5’ 10”. He had a zig zag scar over right eye. A single Sailor.

Was stationed at Whitley Camp, Surrey, England. Found in: “No Return Ticket” – A. Mann.

Embarked aboard the S. S. Lapland at Halifax, 25/03/17. Debarked at Liverpool, England 7/04//17. Posted to 161st Batt. TOS at Witley 1/06/17. Transferred overseas to 47th Batt. Cdn.

Allan was wounded in action 3/09/18. GSW to his left arm 30/09/18. Admitted to General Hospital – Dannes. He was reported discharged 19/10/18. He was also treated for Tonsillitis 12/03/18 – 23/03/18 

L/Cpl. Dell proceeded to discharge leaving England at Liverpool 28/05/19 arriving at Quebec city 4/0619 with the 47th Batt.  Allan was discharged 6 June, 1919 due to demobilization. .
