Regimental number: 189555. Reference: RG 150, Accession 1992-93/166, Box 2420 – 18, Item 348319, PDF B2420-S018. Date of Birth: 13/12/1897 (according to his Militttery Medical Exam his birth date was 1896)  at Frontinac County or Lennox County), ON. Son of Mrs. S. S. Deline (Charlotte) of  82 Murray or 186 Murray St., Chatham, ON., brother of Jacob 4001536, and sisters Elizabeth and Margaret. A single contractor, living at his mother’s home. It was reported in his Military Mediacl file that he had suffered a Head Injury – Prior to his enlistment. He was Semicomatose for five days but was released from hospital. The Military Doctor was satisfied that his injury would “not effect his service”. It was also noted that he had an increased heart rate but that was most likely a result of his smoking 30 cigarrets per day. Jesse was hospitalize in March of 1917 for Pneumonia. He was hospitalized at Hamilton, ON. for Tachycardia from 28/11/18 to 22 /04/ 1919.      

Served with 24th Kent Regt. in Chatham prior to the war. Attestation: 29/11/15 at Chatham, age 18 years; and later 6/12/1915 at St. Thomas, ON. to 91st Bn. Jesse served with the 18th Battalion 28/02/16, No.1 Special Service Coy. Canadain Engineers / 7th Field Coy. CANADA ONLY.

Jesse trained at Camp Borden 13/09/16 at Chatham. He was discharged 2/05/1919 due to Demobilization.    

After the war Jesse married Elizabeth (nee McCue) in 1919

He died in 1955 at the age of 60 years at St. Catharines, ON., Interment at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham, ON.
