D’Clute Allan Victor

 

Born 21/02/1914 in Landon, North Dekota, USA, the son of Victor and Eliza Jane (nee Craford) D’Clute. Brother of Jean (Linley), Thelma (Lee) Glen and Sara DeClute. The husband of Margaret (nee Yemen) married   22/01/1955 and  father of Dale and Deborah (Pretty).

Enlisted at in the RCAF 27/01/1943 in Chatham, ON. , at the time he was living at R. R. #1 Blenheim, ON. Allan served in Canada, stationed at Comox, Vancouver Island, Montreal, PQ., TTS St. Thomas, Rockcliffe and Brantford, ON.   The CDN 14/03/44 reported that Allan then stationed at Lachine, PQ, in March 1944 was reported in Blenheim on leave to visit his parents.  He was discharged from the RCAF 12/11/1946 at Rockcliffe, ON. He did not serve overseas.

After the war Allan farmed in Raleigh Township, Kent Co., ON. He also drove school buss for the Blenheim Bus Lines and was a coach driver for the Chatham Bus Lines. He was involved in many community groups as well as church functions. Allan donated his collection of war memorabilia to the Blenheim Freedom Library and Military Museum.

Allan passed away 2/05/2015 at the Blenheim Community Village at the age of 101 years. Internment at Crawford Cemetery, Raleigh Township.
