Born 1916 in Toronto, ON., the daughter of Mr. and. P. B.  and Inez Day of 36 Edgar St., Chatham, ON. The sister of Cpl. Bert Day, Kent Regt. Reported marriage with Flt. Lieut. Jack E. Marier (DFC) of Toronto at St. Mary’s Church, Knaresborough, Yorkshire (near Leeds), England. CDN 26/01/45. Verrol  travelled to Windsor, ON. to enlist in the RCAF (WD). She and the other ‘girls’ would leave for Toronto to attend training school at Havergal College. CDN 21/02/42.

Flight Officer (promoted 22/02/42) Day (Marier) served as Executive assistant to Air Vice-Marshall C. M. (Black Mike) McEwen CB,MC,DFC. In October Section Officer Day (W30225) returned to RCAF Toronto after spending a weekend at Chatham. CDN 26/10/42. Commander of RCAF No. 6 Bomber Group in England, headquartered at Linton, Tholthoroe, Croft, England. She served there from 1/08/43 to 18/09/45 “On Medical Grounds”.
