Sapper Arthur D. Day was attached to the Signallers at Ottawa, shortly after enlistment, In March, 1916, he sailed from St.John, being appointed ship-stenographer. His course was completed in England, part of it being taken in conjunction with the Royal Engineers. For over a year he served in the Pay Office at different camps, and in the autumn of 1917 was transferred to the Tunnelling Co. and assigned the duties of typist in the orderly room. Later he crossed to France attached to the 3rd. Canadian Tunnelling Company.
