Pte. Dawson trained in Canada with the 186th battalion leaving with this unit for overseas the latter part of Apr. 1917.
After training at Bramshott Camp he proceeded to France Aug. 28 transferring to the 18th battalion.
While in the act of carrying a wounded man back from the firing line he received wounds which resulted in his death Nov. 9, 1917.
