Born 31/03/1919, at Tilbury, ON, the son of James and Isabel Davidson of R. R. #1 Tilbury, ON. Prior to the war Richard resided at R.R. #3, Tilbury. He worked as a truck driver. He was the brother of five sisters all married. Richard married a Welsh lady, Ellen Olsen at Newport, Wales 28/08/41.
Richard was the second man to enlisted from Tilbury on 13/09/1939 with the Essex Scottish Regt. at Windsor, ON. Attestation paper.
Richard was reported as missing after the raid on Dieppe, France. CDN 16/09/42 and 21/09/42
