Arrived in England aboard the S.S.Lapland 7/04/17 for service in France. TOS from Canada to Bramshott. 28/08/17 Nominal Roll 27/08/17 wounded 15/10/18/ Wilfred assigned $15.00 / Month for his mother.

Private Wilfred L. Daigneault transferred from the 91st. to the 186th. Battalion, going overseas March 26th, 1917. After training at Bramshott Camp he proceeded to France August 27th, 1917, attached to the18th. Battalion.

He was granted a 14 day leave to th UK. Sailing 14/03/19. Discharged 24/05/1919 Demobilization.

“Two soldiers return From Overseas.”

 

   “Pte. Wilfred Dagneau [should be Daignault], the son of Mrs. Emma Daigneau [Daignault] and brother of Phil, recently returned , went overseas with the 186th Kents, as did his brother Phil. He also was transferred to the 17th Batt., and saw pretty much continuos service in France, culminating in a sojourn in Germany wit the army of occupation. Enroute home, they participated in the memorable reception given the 18th, one of Western Ontario’s famous battalions, by the city of London. “

“Mrs. Daigneault on Monday received word that her son Wilfred had been wounded in the right hand. He enlisted at the age of 18 three years ago and was later transferred to the 18th Battalion.”
