Attestation: 24/09/14 at Valcartier, PQ. Age: 22 yrs. 8 mos. , Height; 5’ 8 ½ “, Complex: Reddish, Eyes: Blue, Hair: Brown, Weight: 150 #. He was vaccinated at sea. Medical: 30 Aug. 1914 “Fit” @ Valcartier, PQ. Note a scar on his Right Shin, Vaccination left arm.

Son of David and Margaret Cumming, of 60, Hallam St., Toronto, Ontario.

His WILL: To Miss Rose Elsie Clarke – 80 South, Portland, St. Glasgow, Scotland. All kit and personal to the same person. Mr. David Cumming, 683 Dalmadnock Road, Bridgeton, Glasgow, Scotland – awards.

Assigned Pay:- Mrs. Margaret Cumming, 9 Poss, Cranston Hill, Glasgow – the sums of $15.00 / month of pay. At some time David’s father David Cumming c/o Barron, Young St., Toronto.       

Sailed from Quebec aboard the S.S. Royal Edward 4/04/14. 

 Cambridge 2/06/1915 – Shrapnel wound on 24/05/15 at Festbert: – two wounds left calf from shrapnel taken out from lower wound at Beltuns on the same day. Two small pieces of shrapnel still shown  on X- Ray 

David was treated for Gonorrhoea 13/09/15 to 8/10/15. 30/09/16 David was promoted to Corporal – and he was reported MIA – KIA 

London Field Ambulance transferred David to Monks Horton Conv. St. Martins Plain GSW left leg.    

Transferred to Infantry Base Dept 24/05/15 WIA 

Arv. In France 21/02/16 with the 8th Batt.
