Born in 1919 [IODE] or 1923 [CDN-Obit] at Chatham, ON., son of Joseph and June Cudney (nee Lethewaite) of 373 St. Clair St., Chatham, ON. The brother of Iva (Boley), Herbert and Donald, Cora (Luther), Phyllis Audrey (Thornton), James, Alvin, Ella (Aitteen), Kenneth, Fred and Joseph. The husband of Beulah (nee Bechard) and the father of Debry (Cudney).
Robert enlisted in the army in October 1941 and spent 2 ½ years in the Canadian Tank Corps. In August of 1944 Robert was the co-driver in the Tank Corp on the Italian front. CDN 22/08/44. The CDN 22/11/45 reported that Sgt. Robert Cudney had returned to Canada aboard the Queen Elizabeth.
He was discharged from the army in December 1945.
Robert passed away 27/12/86.
Robert passed away 27 December, 1986; at the age of 63 years old, internment in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Chatham, ON.
