Appears on the “Muster Roll” of the 2nd Bn., Kent Regiment (MG), N.P.A.N. (date unknown). Also C5886 [unit unknown]. This would have been before enlisting in the RCAF – as follows:

CRUICKSHANK, ROSS A. Sqd.Ldr., RCAF. From Blenheim, ON.

Prior to his enlistment the Squadron Leader was a teacher at the Blenheim High School.

Ross enlisted in July of 1941, training at Mountain View, ON. and Dauphin MB. He had been serving as an Armament Officer in charge of Bombing and Gunnery on operational stations in England.  He had Married Moneta (nee Stinson) in January 1942, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Stinson of Dresden.

Flr. Lieut. Cruickshank was stationed at RCAF- Dauphin, MB. The DT 29/04/43 reported that he and his wife were visiting Mrs. Mary Stewart and Mr. and Mrs. James Stinson.   Flt. Lieut. would have shipped out for overseas duty arriving in June 1943, DT 1/07/43

Sqd. Ldr. Cruickshank was reported returned to Blenheim after eighteen months duty overseas with the RCAF on a 30 day leave. He visited with his mother Mrs. Stewart and his two sisters Mrs. Kimball and Miss Mary Stewart of Blenheim. He was also rejoining his wife Moneta (nee Stinson) of Dresden, ON. CDN 9/11/44(P)
