The son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Crone of Prince Street, South , Chatham, ON. (a veteran of WWI) Clifford had enlisted at Windsor, ON., receiving his training at No. 12 BTC and Kingston. He also had a brother serving on the east coast. (name not noted)   

The CDN 20/03/43 was returned to Kingston after a five-day leave with his parents 

Served in Canada until March 1943. Went overseas and arrived in England April 1st 1943.  The CDN 3/09/43 (P), reported that Sgmn. C. K. Crone had arrived in North Africa in April of 1943.  

Served in Central Mediterranean Area, United Kingdom and Continental Europe. Was awarded the 1939-1945 Star, Italy Star, France and Germany Star, The C.V.S.M. and Clasp.

Discharged March 26th, 1946.
