Born in Mitcham, England, the son of James and Edith (nee Hitchcock) Cranstone, the brother of Alma (Haney).  The family moved to Chatham, ON. in 1923. The husband of Evelyn Cranstone (nee Ackert). The father of David, Michael and John. 

Eric enlisted in the RCAF 13/02/1942 and was discharged 8/11/1945, all of his service was in Canada.

After the war Eric was employed at International Harvester in Chatham, retiring from there.

Eric passed away at his home 31 Dec. 2016 in his 98^th year, with interment in Maple Leaf Cemetery Chatham. CDN-Obit. [unknown]
