Born in Erieau 19/04/1920 the son of Norman Cox of Erieau, ON.   

The CDN 18/03/42 reported that Stocker Cox was home on furlough at the same time as Harvey Ellis and Ted Warren other “Erieau Boys” also on furlough from the Navy.

Stocker Cox spent a weekend leave with his family in Erieau in March 1942. CDN 19/03/42

James joined the Navy in 1944 serving on HMCS Stradacona, Hamilton and Bittersweet as a stocker.

In November Leading Stocker Cox returned to Erieau for the first time in a year. This was the first time he had seen his five month old daughter Elizabeth Ann. He had also been successful passing his examination for Petty Officer, soon to replace his Stocker’s uniform for a peaked cap and a collar and tie. CDN 1/11/44

After the war he sailed on the Great Lakes on board freighters for twenty five years becoming a marine engineer.

Reported living in Blenheim, ON. before going to hospital. James passed away  21/03/2006 at Parkwood Hospital, London, ON., where he had been for the last five years of his life.
