Paul was a member of the Erieau hockey team prior to his enlistment in Toronto.

It was reported that Pte. Cosley was visiting Scotland while stationed in the United Kingdom in March of 1942. CDN 17/03/42

It was reported in the CDN 2/09/42 that Pte. Paul Cosley, “of a well known Toronto regiment” was involved in the Dieppe Raid and had arrived safely back in England. Prior to the raid Paul had undergone extensive commando training.  In a letter home Paul writes the following: “Please tell every one that I am safe and that old Jerry did not get me this time.”

The CDN 28/06/45 reported that he arrived in Erieau a few days ago.  During an interview Paul mentioned how important letters and newspapers were to the men overseas. “It means much to be back amongst ones friends. He remarked at how much food was available once he got home , “I just cannot help making a glutton of myself.”
