Cooper James Cameron

 

Born in Tilbury, ON. August 12, 1922, his next of kin, Mary Cameron Grant Cooper. Prior to his enlistment he was living at 123 West St., Chatham.

Trained at #12 B.T.C. and Camp Ipperwash. According to family information James was discharged in June 1943 after five months in service and a good conduct rating due to the loss of his right hand and was physically unfit for military service. D. Edmonston.

The fact is he enlisted in June of 1943 and was discharged at Ipperwash Camp, for the reason above on 5 November, 1943 due to loss the 2nd finger of his left hand. (Information from his Discharge Certificate).

He only served in Canada.

James passed away 3 Sept. 1972.
