Born in Dresden, ON., the son of Garnet and Marion (nee Lambkin) Cook. The husband of Ruby (nee Handsor) passed away 1998. The father of Donald.

He enlisted in April 1945, at London, ON. James was the past president of Royal Canadian Legion Br. 113.

James passed away 25 January, 2016 at the age of 89 years.
