Pte. Comboye left Chatham with the 186th battalion for overseas arriving in Liverpool Apr. 7, 1917.
After training at Bramshott he proceeded to France June 26 then transferring to the 18th battalion.
He suffered from trench fever and was also shot in the hand but refused to leave his post until given fourteen days leave in Feb, 1918 in Scotland.
He returned to join his unit and was killed in action Apr. 2, 1918.
