Owen’s wife was informed that he husband had been wounded in the in the right arm while serving in Italy with the Perth Regt. Owen had been overseas for nearly two years when he was wounded in 1945. He attributed his injury to a short shot by artillery during an advance on a position. Shrapnel from the shell struck his right arm.
The date of the injury was January 01, 1945.
