It appears that Leslie served for a number of years while in England with the Non-Oermanet Active Militia and his military records are in the United Kingdom as 1084, RG 9-11-B-F ‘Finding Aid’ 9 – 60. He also served in the Royal Navy Canadian Volunteer Reserve, which was under British command and his record for that time is also in the United Kingdom as:

Hopefully the records were not destroyed in WWII. JRH.
