Regimental number: 880128. Date of Birth: 06/04/1886 at Toronto, ON. The son of Daniel A. Clarke, of Toronto. Prior to enlistment David was a fisherman with the A. Brown Fishery, Kingsville, ON.  He resided in Morpeth, Howard Twsp., Kent Co., ON.

He enlisted 4 March, 1916 in Chatham, ON., with the 186th Bn 

He had his medical examination in Ridgetown, 29 Feb., 1916.

Height: 5’ 7 ¼ “, Complexion: Dark,  Eyes: Brown, Hair: Brown.

Attestation: 4/03/1916 at Chatham, ON. to 186th Bn.

He trained in Canada with the 186th and went overseas with that unit. Trained for 4 months in England arriving in April. He was transferred to France 25 Aug. 1917, reinforcement for the 18th Bn. 

He was reported returned from overseas in the CDN 25 March, 1919 and  was discharged from the army 28 March, 1919 due to demobilization.
