He had his medical examination in Ridgetown, 29 Feb., 1916.

He trained in Canada with the 186th and went overseas with that unit. Trained for 4 months in England arriving in April. He was transferred to France 25 Aug. 1917, reinforcement for the 18th Bn.
He was reported returned from overseas in the CDN 25 March, 1919 and was discharged from the army 28 March, 1919 due to demobilization.
