Clapp, John Blake

Born in Chatham, ON. the son of Alva and Christena (nee Shaw), a sister Mary (Uniac) and brother Lloyd. Attended high school at Chatham Collegiate Institute in Chatham.

Enlisting as OS in the RCNVR, Blake served aboard HMCS Prince Robert in the European theatre. After the war where he would attain the rating of AB.

Discharged November 21st, 1945.

After the war Blake would marry Betty (nee Medland) and they would have one son John B. of Ottawa 2010. Blake was a Territory Manager for the J. I. Case Company and the owner operator of Blake Clapp Farm Equipment. At the time of his death 7 July, 2010, he was a resident of Mitchell’s Bay, ON., Betty predeceased him in 1985, he is buried in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham, ON.
