Born in Wallaceburg, ON. The son of George Christian and Mrs. Louise King of Woodstock. The brother of Pte. John, Sigmn Clarence, RCNVR William (with an honourable discharge), Mrs Meddie King, Mrs. Vela Toulouse, Mrs. Francis Butterman and Mrs. Don Knight. His wife and two children were living in Algonac, Michigan, USA.  Prior to his enlistment, he was employed at the Dominion Glass Co. in Wallaceburg.

Robert enlisted a few months after the war was declared. He was serving as a sniper in the Italian theater with “17 Germans to his credit”. He was reported as MIA in December of 1944 after serving four years. The WN 26/04/45 (P) reported that L/Cpl. Robert Christian was a POW in Germany.
