Private Harry Christian was transferred from London in May 1918 to Niagara-on-the-Lake with the Railway Construction Battalion. He then proceeded overseas with that unit in June. He trained with Draft 54 at Purfleet Camp until September when he crossed to France with the 2nd. C.R.T. “D” Company as sapper.
In January 1919, he was admitted to Sandgate Military Hospital with Influenza, and transferred in February to the Canadian General Hospital at Shorncliffe.
