In May of 1943, LAC Chevalier was to be stationed in Calgary, Alberta after he had spent a short furlough at his parent’s home. In late September, WAG Carlyle was stationed at the Bombing and Gunnery school in Fengal, Ontario. In the article, “Windsor and District Men are Presented with Wings”, it is mentioned at he received his wings in October of 1943.
